Discover golf courses across the different regions of France.
Golf in France is spread across markedly different landscapes. Northern and western regions offer parkland, heath and coastal ground, while the southwest has a long golfing tradition around the Atlantic and inland pine country. Around Paris, visitors can combine golf with dense transport links, although traffic and travel times need consideration. In the south, Provence, the Côte d’Azur and Languedoc provide drier settings, while Alpine areas add seasonal mountain scenery. Many clubs are outside town centres, so journey planning is an important part of a visit. France suits both single-base breaks and longer driving itineraries. The Atlantic coast can be windy, particularly outside summer, and Mediterranean courses can be hot in midsummer. Spring and autumn generally give the most comfortable conditions across much of the country, but regional variation matters: coastal Brittany is cooler and wetter, the southwest is mild, and mountain facilities may be limited in winter. Book tee times and accommodation early around school holidays, major cities and popular southern areas. A rental car is useful beyond Paris and the largest urban centres; trains work well for city-to-city travel but seldom reach courses directly.
