Pays de la Loire combines Atlantic coastline, river valleys and inland farmland across western France. Golfers can base themselves around Nantes or use the region as a road-trip destination, with settings ranging from sandy coastal terrain near the Vendée and Loire-Atlantique to parkland and woodland farther inland. The Loire, its tributaries and historic towns add variety between rounds. Courses commonly reward controlled tee shots and adaptable play in breezy conditions, especially near the coast. Inland layouts may be softer after prolonged rain, whereas coastal ground can play firmer and faster in dry spells.
