Westerhope Golf Club cover

About this course:

Westerhope Golf Club is a parkland course with 18 holes and a total length of 6392 yards from the members' tees. The course opened on June 21, 1941, and was designed by Sandy Herd, winner of the 1902 Open Championship. Its original layout is largely preserved, giving the course a distinctive character with a relaxed yet challenging round. From the tee, Westerhope demands precise play. Trees, bunkers, and out-of-bounds areas guide the course, while the greens are often two-tiered, making a good approach important. The course appears open but penalizes sloppy shots. After the round, the clubhouse offers a friendly atmosphere overlooking the 18th green, and the course has also featured in the Seniors Open.
