Westfield Lane, Ryton
Tyneside Golf Club is a classic 18-hole parkland course designed by Harry S Colt in 1911. Situated high on the Falls of old Ryton, it offers peaceful conditions with beautiful views over the River Tyne and Tyne Valley. At over 6,000 yards and par 70, the course is not overly long but challenging: each hole has its own character and varying wind directions make every round different. Founded in 1879, the club is one of England's oldest. The 1911 clubhouse adds to the historic atmosphere: the Edwardian wooden pavilion has been restored. The quality of the greens, sand and gravel base, and nearly original Colt features like greens and greenside bunkers provide an authentic and timeless golf experience.
