53 Bell Villas, NE20 9BD Ponteland
Ponteland Golf Club was founded in 1927 and grew from a modest 9-hole course into a stylish 18-hole parkland course designed by Harry Fernie. The course is set in the Northumberland landscape and features tree-lined fairways, natural water hazards, and subtly contoured greens, providing a challenging yet accessible game for various skill levels. From the members' tees, Ponteland plays around 6,600 yards, with winding doglegs, bunkers, and noticeable elevation changes that enhance the course's character. The result is a fair and memorable test, with a pleasant walking layout and a distinct risk-reward feel. The club life also has a long tradition of local, regional, and national competitions.
