About this course:
Welshpool Golf Club sits atop Golfa Hill above Welshpool market town, offering a varied 18-hole course with elevated fairways and fine views over Mid Wales, the Shropshire Hills, and Snowdonia mountains. Designed by James Braid, the course naturally follows the terrain's contours, demanding strategy, precision, and thoughtful club choice each round. Founded in 1894, the club moved to Golfa Hill in 1930. With a length of 5,700 yards and par 70 for men, and 4,913 yards and par 71 for women, it is a challenging yet rewarding course for various handicaps. After the round, the clubhouse offers a warm welcome with food and drinks. Thanks to naturally draining fairways, golf is possible almost year-round, while electric buggies make playing at height comfortable.
