Central Drive, LA14 3LN Barrow-in-Furness
Furness Golf Club, also known as Old Links, is a classic 18-hole links course on Walney Island off Cumbria's west coast. The course runs parallel to the Irish Sea, offering wide views of the Lakeland hills and, on clear days, even the Isle of Man on the horizon. Wind often plays a key role, making each round a true links challenge. The design is known for its fair yet tough nature, with a varied mix of long straight par 5s, challenging par 3s, and strategic par 4s. Penalty ditches, gorse, deep rough, and bunkers demand precise play. Founded in 1872, the club grew from a 6-hole course to the 18 holes that define this traditional golf course's character.
