Silecroft Nr. Millom, Cumbria, LA18 4NX
Silecroft Golf Club is on the Cumbrian South West Coast, at the edge of the Western Lake District and next to the Irish Sea. This 9-hole links course with 18 tees is set in an impressive coastal landscape, featuring expansive sandy beaches, the silhouette of Black Combe, and wide views towards the Isle of Man, Barrow-in-Furness, and Walney Island. From the first tee, you look out over the sea, giving every round a distinct seascape character. The course plays to par 69 from the White Tees and par 68 from the Yellow Tees. Long par 4s, notable bunkering around the short par 3 of hole 3, and subtle routing demand precise play, especially when the wind is a factor. With alternative tees for the back nine and a history of over 100 years, Silecroft offers a characterful challenge for golfers who want to adapt their game to the weather.
