Forest of Galtres Golf Club is a parkland course in the heart of the Forest of Galtres, near York. This 18-hole golf course covers about 120 acres, plays 6,534 yards from the medal tees, and is par 72. Its mostly flat nature allows for smooth play, while raised greens and the 'perched water table' concept provide fast, consistent putting surfaces. The lakes serve both as irrigation reservoirs and challenging water hazards. Besides the course, Forest of Galtres offers good practice facilities with a covered driving range, putting green, and practice area, plus tuition from a PGA professional. The clubhouse, housed in a converted farmhouse, has a warm atmosphere and views over the 18th green from the lounge and bar. There is also a shop, buggy hire, snacks, and drinks available.
