Birtley Golf Club, also known as Birtley (Portobello) Golf Club, is a parkland course on the hilly slopes of Birtley, near the A1. The 9 holes with 18 tees total 5,729 yards and play to par 67. The course demands precise and tactical play, featuring a mix of par 3s and par 4s that make good use of natural elevation changes, valleys, slopes, and tree lines. The round starts with a tough long par 3 to a narrow, well-guarded green, followed by a challenging dogleg par 4 with out of bounds and extra hazards. Afterwards, the clubhouse offers a lounge, bar, and dining for a relaxed end to the round.
