Babe Zaharias Golf Course, known as “The Babe” in Tampa Bay, named after Mildred Ella “Babe” Didrikson Zaharias. Opened in 1926 as Forest Hills Golf and Country Club with a two-story clubhouse and ballroom. Babe took over in 1949, held clinics and exhibitions; closed after her death in 1956. Reopened in 1974 under City of Tampa, part of Florida Historic Golf Trail. Practice facilities include warm-up net, putting and chipping greens; rental clubs available at pro shop.
