Zeeland is the Netherlands’ south-western province, spread across islands, peninsulas and mainland areas around the North Sea and Scheldt estuaries. Golf is shaped by open horizons and regular wind rather than steep terrain. Coastal layouts can feel exposed, while inland settings often incorporate polders, woodland edges and water-management features. Ground conditions vary with rainfall, dry periods and sea air, making club selection and ball control important throughout the year. Tidal landscapes and changing light give many rounds a distinct maritime character, especially where fairways run close to dykes, salt marshes or broad drainage channels. A car is useful for a golf break, as playing venues and accommodation are spread across areas linked by dams, bridges and tunnels. The main season runs from late spring into early autumn, when daylight is long and coastal towns are active. Summer rounds are often breezy rather than hot; spring and autumn can be quieter but bring more variable weather. Pack layers, waterproofs and wind-resistant clothing, and allow extra time for exposed holes. Middelburg, Vlissingen and Goes are practical bases, while Zeeland’s proximity to Belgium also supports cross-border itineraries.
