Murreagh, Waterville, Co. Kerry, V23 W940, Ierland
Waterville Golf Links is a classic Irish links course on an isthmus of natural dune-land, bordered by the Wild Atlantic Ocean, the Inny River, the Inny Estuary and native bogland. Designed by Eddie Hackett and Tom Fazio, this par-72 championship layout follows the contours of the dunes with firm turf shaped by sea breezes and a clear, straightforward design with no blind shots. The course combines panoramic views, dune flora and a strong sense of place, while each hole is framed by the natural landscape and the surrounding wildlife adds to the atmosphere. Golf at Waterville dates back to 1889, and the modern 18-hole course opened in 1973 after the original nine was reconfigured. Facilities include a renovated clubhouse with locker rooms, a golf shop and the 1889 Bar & Restaurant, along with a full-size practice range and several putting and chipping greens. The course has also hosted events such as the Noel Cronin Memorial Tournament and the Kerry Cup.
