About this course:
Wallasey Golf Club, founded in 1891, is a characterful classic English links where wind and coastal surroundings clearly influence play. The course was originally designed by Tom Morris Sr. of St Andrews and later refined by Alex 'Sandy' Herd, Harold Hilton, and James Braid. This rich history gives Wallasey an authentic links atmosphere instantly recognizable to golfers. The club qualified four times as a qualifying course for The Open Championship and remains an attractive tournament venue today. Wallasey has also hosted the England Golf Championship and has been a stage for strong competitions and famous names for decades. The combination of dune sand, coastal influences, and history makes this golf course particularly distinctive.
