Chalkstone Avenue 1533, 02909 Providence
Triggs Memorial Golf Course is a Donald Ross course in Providence, on the west side of the city, originating from the historic 140-acre Obadiah Brown Farm. Designed in the early 1930s and opened in spring 1932, the layout follows natural terrain contours with moderate elevation changes and strategically placed Ross-style green bunkers. The front nine is relatively flat, while the back nine offers more elevation variety. Known for four demanding par 3s, relatively short but challenging par 5s, and long, tough par 4s, it appeals mainly to serious golfers but accommodates diverse playing styles with varied distances. Since FCG Associates took over in 1990, restoration of the original Ross design has been underway. The course also features a pro shop and a learning center.
