About this course:
Thorpeness Hotel & Golf Club is an 18-hole par-70 course on the Suffolk coast, designed by James Braid in 1922. The course lies on low heathland, featuring heather, gorse, pine, and silver birch, with firm, fast-draining turf and a salty sea breeze. It offers a varied round emphasizing precise tee placement, distance control, and smart play on sloping greens. Established in 1910, the club survived two world wars, resuming in 1945. Known for its coastal heathland character, it has hosted events like the English Seniors Championship, PGA Super 60’s Tournament, and Logan Trophy.
