The Virginian is a private golf course in the Virginian Highlands, set in a pastoral environment with expansive landscape views. The Tom Fazio design gives the course character: on 18 holes and 7,025 yards from the championship tees, generous fairways and subtle 'bumps' play an important role. The course has a rhythmic, picturesque flow, with zoysia-covered fairways and Pennlinks bentgrass greens. Besides the full course, The Virginian also offers variety in play formats. You can play nine holes or combine your round with the 3-hole practice course, ideal for short game training. The atmosphere is calm and family-oriented, rooted in the early 1990s when the Nicewonder Family started the project in the rolling Appalachian hills.
