Tamarack Country Club

About this course:

Tamarack Country Club is a classic 18-hole golf course by Charles H. Banks, a protégé of Seth Raynor. Located in Greenwich, Banks used the rolling hills of the back country to create a Golden Age layout in a European template style. The course is known for large greens, deep bunkers, and terrain that often plays deceptively, offering golfers a challenging test focused on precision and strategy. The club has a rich history dating back to 1909 and first opened the course on July 4, 1929. From the early 1950s to 1962, Tamarack co-hosted the Ike Championship and served as a sectional qualifying site for the U.S. Amateur in 2022. In 2024, the course underwent extensive restoration by Brian Schneider, with restored surrounds, tee complexes, and bunkers.
