Chapel Lane, Forest Row, East Sussex, RH18 5LR
Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club, founded in 1888, is set in Ashdown Forest and offers two 18-hole courses, each with its own character. The Old Course is a traditional heathland course featuring heather, mounds, hollows, and natural elements like pools and streams that demand precise play. Notably, this course has no bunkers, with narrow fairways and hollows shaping the score. The West Course winds through mature deciduous woodland, combining narrower, tree-lined fairways with often elevated greens and challenging run-offs. Together, both courses provide a true test for golfers. The Old Course is designated by the R&A as a venue for regional Open Championship qualifying and hosted the 2011 Ladies’ British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship. The club also offers a practice area, professional coaching, and a performance centre.
