8400 River Course Dr, Radford, VA 24141
The Pete Dye River Course at Virginia Tech is an 18-hole par-72 links-style golf course along the New River. The course features meandering greens, sloped fairways, strategic bunkers, narrow passages, and water hazards, making precise tee placement crucial. The river, rugged rock formations, and elevation changes give each round a distinct character and make nearly every hole a strategic challenge. From the clubhouse atop a rocky cliff, the river view is impressive. Practice facilities include a spacious tee, chipping green with bunkers, and a 10,000 m² putting green with range balls. Opened in 1999, the course underwent a full transformation by Pete Dye starting in 2003, with formal dedication in 2006.
