About this course:
Mauna Kea Beach Hotel Golf Course is a legendary 18-hole championship course with roots dating back to 1964, when Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed it on a rugged black lava field. A major renovation by Robert Trent Jones Jr. has preserved that classic character while adding lush fairways, improved bunkers and greens, and elevated, undulating putting surfaces. Coastal winds and sweeping seaside cliffs add to the challenge, with ocean and coastal views unfolding throughout the round.
The course is also known for its memorable signature Third Hole, played over the ocean. Practice facilities include a driving range and dedicated putting greens, while golfers also have access to a pro shop, clubhouse restaurant, and locker and shower facilities. Private and group lessons are available through PGA professionals, and the Mauna Kea Resort Pro-Am, first held in 1973, adds to its competitive tradition.
