About this course:
Matfen Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa is set on a 300-acre parkland estate in Northumberland, near Hadrian's Wall. The 18-hole championship course, The Douglas, follows the original contours of the Northumbrian landscape, featuring a dry-stone Ha Ha wall, mature woodland, and the meandering River Pont for a varied and characterful layout. Besides The Douglas, you can play the 9-hole Dewlaw, a par-3 short course, and the Himalayas putting green. For practice and refinement, there are The Keepers with a golf shop and facilities, and The Golf Lab offering simulators, a laser-guided putting studio, PGA teaching, and custom fitting. The estate's history dates back to the 13th century, with the current Matfen Hall designed in Jacobean style with a Gothic entrance between 1832–1836.
