Is this suggested description update correct: Macroom Golf Course, part of Macroom Golf Club, is located on the grounds of the historic castle and is a parkland course that runs along the winding banks of the River Sullane. This 18-hole course of approximately 6,200 yards takes you through rolling terrain in the shadow of the Kerry Mountains, with mature trees, water, and other hazards that strongly influence the game. Especially on the first five holes of the Back 9, the river and the landscape come into beautiful view. The 18th hole presents a real test: a par-4 with out of bounds on both sides, but also opportunities for birdie if you find the fairway well. Founded in 1925, the club grew from a nine-hole course to the current 18 holes.?
