MacGregor Downs Country Club is a private 18-hole golf course designed by Willard Byrd. The course lies on the shores of Lake MacGregor and features a characteristic hilly landscape with rolling, partly wooded fairways and distinctive greens. The design demands strategic play, with new choices from the tee and varied challenges throughout the round. The famous 18th hole adds extra excitement towards the finish. Since opening in 1967, MacGregor Downs has a rich tournament history, including the Liggett & Myers PGA Tour Match Play Championships in the early 1970s and the annual Stitch Intercollegiate. The club also offers modern facilities and extensive training options, including private lessons, club fitting, and the Operation 36 Golf Academy for juniors, ladies, and gentlemen.
