Lake Spanaway Golf Course is an 18-hole par 72 championship course opened in 1967, designed by A. V. Macan. The course winds through native fir forests and demands precise play: long, straight drives help, while well-placed bunkers and large greens with subtle breaks make the difference. The layout plays over 7,100 yards and offers a challenging yet fair test for experienced golfers and players of various levels and ages. The course has a strong tournament history, including PNGA Men’s and Women’s Amateur Public Links, the USGA U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, and various qualifiers and amateur events. For practice, there is a covered driving range, a spacious putting green, and short-game facilities. Lake Spanaway is also known as a walkable championship course, with carts optional.
