Lightbridge Road, HD2 2EP Huddersfield
Huddersfield Golf Club in Fixby is one of the oldest and most esteemed championship golf courses in northern England. Founded in 1891, the original 18-hole layout for gentlemen was designed by Tom Dunn. The current course is a 6,500-yard championship course with fast-drying USGA-standard greens and fairways that encourage strategic play and thoughtful club selection. Significant maintenance efforts have been made, including a £300,000 renovation project that improved bunkers, increased consistency, and reinforced the traditional character of many holes. The course has hosted several prestigious tournaments, including the England Men’s Team Championships and the Yorkshire 1st Division Championships, as well as national and international events through the Ladies’ Golf Union and the English Ladies’ Golf Association.
