Hope Valley Country Club is a private golf club with a rich tradition since 1926 in the Durham–Chapel Hill–Triangle area. The centerpiece is the classic 18-hole Donald Ross Championship Course, known as a “total gem” with returning nines and a design emphasizing topography and expansive views. The course demands strategic play with creeks, out of bounds, (blind) landing zones, bunkers, and greens with clear undulation, while golfers enjoy well-maintained Champion Bermuda greens, Bermuda fairways and rough, plus Zoysia tees. Hope Valley also has a rich tournament history, including the 1945 Durham Open won by Byron Nelson, and features an attractive clubhouse and facilities for practice, youth, and club golf.
