Churt Road, Hindhead, Surrey GU26 6HX
Hindhead Golf Club is a traditional 18-hole heathland course designed by J.H. Taylor. The course is set in a natural environment with fairways bordered by heather and tall pines, while rhododendrons and azaleas add color in early spring. Its elevated location offers beautiful, distant views of the Surrey landscape, especially on the back nine. Founded in 1904 by enthusiasts including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the club opened its 18 holes in 1905. Hindhead has a strong competitive role: it hosted Open Championship Regional Qualifying from 2000 to 2005 and previously held an Open Scratch Meeting with Justin Rose in 1995. PGA-trained professionals provide lessons for long and short game, including video analysis.
