Hillcrest Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 71 course about 6,700 yards long. It sits on a scenic mesa above Durango, overlooking the La Plata Mountains and Animas River Valley. The varied terrain is reflected in play: short distances between tees and greens make walking pleasant, while doglegs, elevation changes, and slopes add variety. Strategy and placement matter, especially on the hilly par 5 of hole 3, the windy par 4 of hole 4, and the steeply uphill par 4 of hole 16. Water and bunkers often influence the round. Established in 1969, the club also offers a full-size driving range, putting green, extra short-game practice areas, and an indoor golf simulator with 34 courses for winter golf.
