Redmires Road, S10 4LA Sheffield
Hallamshire Golf Club is a classic 18-hole heathland course designed by H.S. Colt, located between Sheffield and the Peak District National Park. The course landscape features heather, gorse, and bilberries, with its high elevation ensuring fast drainage and playability almost year-round. The hand-mown greens are known for their speed and consistent quality, making the course play firm and smooth in summer and remain good well into autumn. The course offers a serious challenge for golfers of all levels. Opened in 1897, Hallamshire underwent a major revision in 1937 by Colt, Alison & Morrison, including the distinctive 6th hole. The club's history includes winning the Yorkshire Championships and a warm, welcoming atmosphere appreciated by many players.
