Goodyear Golf Club, founded in 1980, lies in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Southside Virginia. The 18-hole course winds through hills and dense forests, along meandering creeks and natural habitats that remain part of the landscape. The surroundings visibly influence every round, with frequent wildlife along the fairways. The design follows the gentle terrain contours, combining rustic elements like split rail fencing and stone masonry with fast bentgrass greens and comfortable bermudagrass fairways. The front 9 was designed by Gene Hamm and opened in 1979, while the back 9 was developed in-house and opened in 1994. With four tees, the course accommodates various skill levels.
