About this course:
Golfclub Westerwolde is a 9-hole course in De Barlage near Vlagtwedde, set in the Westerwolde region of East Groningen. Designed by Joan Dudok van Heel and opened in 2002, it is a compact layout of 2,468 metres from the yellow tees. Although relatively short, the course still offers a real test for golfers of every handicap.
The opening hole is a memorable start: a short par 4 with plenty of water and an island green. The club has a welcoming atmosphere, with introduction clinics for newcomers and a volunteer-run setup rather than a staffed clubhouse. Guests can also take a break at restaurant Nuver beside the course. Golfclub Westerwolde also hosts competitions such as the Dribbel Bokaal and Ryder Cup 2026-related days.
