Wendover Road, HP17 0TZ Aylesbury
Ellesborough Golf Club is an 18-hole downland golf course, founded in 1906 and set on chalk at the base of the Chilterns near the Vale of Aylesbury. Its terrain drains well in winter and is drought-resistant in summer, helping keep the course in excellent playing condition throughout the year. Golfers are rewarded for smart shot-making on a layout that asks plenty of the player, with fast, true greens that can be demanding to read and a varied collection of memorable holes framed by panoramic views over the Chilterns countryside. The course has a strong sense of tradition, shaped by its early design by Willie Park Jnr, a 1924 redesign by H.S. Colt and an expansion in 1933 under James Braid. A welcoming clubhouse adds to the club atmosphere, while the focus remains firmly on year-round golf and thorough practice for visitors and members alike.
