Big River Golf Course is an 18-hole municipal course in Umatilla, Oregon, just south of the Columbia River. The relatively flat course spans over 100 acres and offers views of the Columbia River and McNary Dam from several holes on the north edge. With a par 70 layout, including four par 5s, eight par 4s, and six par 3s, it plays 6,130 yards from the longest tees. Its accessible nature makes Big River Golf Course appealing to a wide range of golfers, from recreational players to school teams. Established in 1948, it began as a 9-hole course named McNary Golf and Country Club, expanded to 18 holes in 1968, and is known as Big River. The club hosts tournaments and is home to Hermiston and Umatilla High School golf teams.
