Zimbabwe’s golf is centred on established clubs in Harare and Bulawayo, where courses generally sit on the higher, cooler plateau. Expect tree-lined parkland layouts, firmer conditions during the dry months and facilities that vary between member clubs and visitor-friendly venues. The main playing areas are spread widely, so travel planning matters as much as course selection.
Around Victoria Falls, golf can be combined with the town’s river, wildlife and sightseeing activities, while Harare is the most practical base for a wider choice of urban services. Advance contact is sensible: visitor access, tee times, dress requirements, caddie availability and payment methods can differ by club. Bring sun protection and check local conditions after summer rain, when thunderstorms and softer ground are more likely.
Zimbabwe uses English widely in golf settings, but arrangements may still require direct confirmation. Driving between centres takes time, and road conditions can affect journeys, so a golf-focused trip is easiest when built around one or two bases rather than an ambitious countrywide itinerary. Most clubs expect conventional golf attire, and morning starts can help avoid the hottest part of the day.
