Zambia’s golf is concentrated around Lusaka, the Copperbelt and Livingstone, with clubs serving city communities, hotels and long-established social sporting traditions. Courses typically play through open parkland or mature, tree-lined grounds, and layouts can feel very different between the higher central plateau and the hotter river valleys. Visiting golfers should expect a relaxed club atmosphere, but should confirm visitor access, tee times, dress codes and equipment rental directly before travelling.
May to September is generally the most comfortable period for golf, when dry-season weather brings clearer days and firmer ground in much of the country. October and November can be very hot, particularly at lower elevations, while the rainy season usually runs from roughly November to April and may bring afternoon storms, soft fairways and occasional disruption. Lusaka is the principal air gateway, while Livingstone is useful for combining golf with a stay near Victoria Falls. Zambia uses Central Africa Time year-round. Bring sun protection, light rain gear in wetter months, and check whether clubs accept non-members or require advance arrangements through a hotel or local contact well in advance.
