Golf in Vietnam
Vietnam’s golf travel is spread across distinct regions rather than one uniform resort area. Around Hanoi, courses sit among lowland plains and hill country, while the central coast around Da Nang and nearby heritage cities combines beach access with mountain-backed terrain. In the south, Ho Chi Minh City provides an urban gateway to courses in the surrounding provinces, and coastal areas such as Phan Thiet offer a drier, breezier setting. Domestic flights and main road links make multi-stop itineraries practical, though transfer times can be longer than maps suggest.
Weather planning matters because the north has a cooler winter and a humid summer, central Vietnam has a later rainy period, and the south is warm year-round with a clearer dry season. November to April is often the simplest broad window for combining regions, but local conditions should guide tee times and route choices. Pack for heat, sun and occasional rain, particularly outside the dry months. Vietnam works well for travellers who want golf alongside city stays, coastal downtime and regional food, with itineraries commonly built around Hanoi, Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City, as well as cultural visits.
