Rayong lies on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast, southeast of Bangkok and east of Pattaya. Golf is generally approached as part of a wider eastern-seaboard itinerary, with courses spread across Rayong and nearby Chonburi rather than concentrated in one resort strip. The province’s roads make it practical to base near the coast, industrial areas, or quieter inland communities, depending on tee times and travel plans. Expect tropical conditions throughout the year, so early starts are useful, particularly during the hotter months and in the rainy season. November to February is often more comfortable for walking, while March to May can be very warm. From roughly May through October, showers and thunderstorms can interrupt afternoons; build flexibility into bookings and check course conditions after heavy rain. Away from golf, Rayong offers coastal dining, local markets and access to islands such as Ko Samet via the Ban Phe area. A rental car or arranged transfers are usually the simplest way to link accommodations, courses and airports. Advance reservations are sensible on weekends and holidays, especially when pairing golf with coastal stays, island excursions, or fixed airport transfers.
