About this course:
Thornhill Golf Course in Mid Nithsdale, Dumfries & Galloway, opened in 1893 as a 9-hole course. Expanded to 18 holes in 1979, it offers a mix of parkland and heathland features with flat terrain and panoramic views. At 6102 yards, it challenges golfers of all levels and is friendly for experienced players. Each hole has unique character, from a par 3 with strategic bunkers to signature hole 15 with a narrow dogleg beside a large pond and scrub. Facilities include practice areas, putting green, clubhouse with bar and restaurant. Thornhill is known for amateur events and hosts local competitions, including a 2026 Guinness World Record attempt for Prostate Buddies D&G.
