About this course:
Ardfin Golf Course lies on the south coast of the Isle of Jura in the Inner Hebrides and was designed by Bob Harrison. This 18-hole course is carved into a rugged coastal landscape, with the first 11 holes running along dramatic cliffs down toward beach level. The route then follows the water and shoreline, with holes 12, 13 and 14 also played over or beside the beach before the course turns inland toward a ridge and Jura House.
Wild and robust in character, Ardfin is shaped to work with the landscape rather than fight it. Its narrow greens and reduced use of bunkers suit the demanding cliffside setting, while the peat-and-rock ground has helped create a fast and firm playing surface. Greens, tees and fairways have been built up and drained for consistent play throughout the seasons.
