About this course:
Carnoustie Golf Links’ Championship Course is one of the most demanding links tests in golf, shaped by generations of Open Championship drama. It has hosted The Open Championship since 1931, welcoming eight Opens, most recently in 2018. Known as hard but fair, it asks for length, nerve, and precise shot-making from the first hole onward, with meandering burns and demanding blind carries quickly setting the tone.
Across its 18 holes, the course delivers a clear championship challenge. Deep bunkers, out of bounds, undulating greens, and wind-exposed stretches punish even small mistakes, while holes such as the par-4 4th, Jockie’s Burn at 3, and Hogan’s Alley demand sharp strategy and control. Carnoustie rewards brave, accurate golfers who can handle pressure and keep momentum over a full round.
