72 Whalley Road, Wilpshire, Blackburn, BB1 9LF
Wilpshire Golf Course is an 18-hole course inspired by James Braid, set on upland heath where parkland meets classic moorland. Firm moorland grasses and natural heather give it a distinctive character, with fine views over the Ribble Valley. With par 69 and 5899 yards (White M), it demands accuracy, control, and good ball placement, challenging golfers of all levels. Founded in 1890, expanded to 18 holes in 1909. H.S. Colt advised on layout in 1919; James Braid made improvements in 1924, including new greens and adjusted routes, preserving the play style since 1925.
