Whirlwind Golf Course is part of Whirlwind Golf Club in the Sierra Estrella Mountains, just south of Phoenix Sky Harbor. The course features a distinct Southwestern landscape with desert canyons carved by ancient rivers, adjacent to the Gila River Indian Community. Both courses, Devil’s Claw and Cattail, were designed by Gary Panks and total 36 holes. Play unfolds over rolling terrain with native vegetation like cotton, mesquite, saguaro, and palo verde, interspersed with native grasses and open vistas. Whirlwind Golf Club is known as a championship golf destination and annually hosts the LPGA Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass in late March.
