Vernon Golf Club, founded in 1913, evolved from a compact 9-hole start to an 18-hole championship course in Vernon. This par 72 course plays about 6,609 yards and is known for fast, pure greens with subtle breaks that keep golfers sharp. The parkland character is enhanced by the distinctive inside five routing: the CN Railroad cuts through the terrain, while Vernon Creek plays on several holes. Lombardy poplars and weeping willows provide a beautiful setting, with a strong finishing stretch in the Okanagan. The 16th hole stands out: a 460-yard par 4 with out of bounds on both sides, an uphill tee shot, and a sidehill lie. For practice, the club offers a 200-yard irons-only driving range, short game area, putting greens, and chipping and pitching zones.
