Sugar Mountain Golf Course is a public 18-hole course in the Blue Ridge Mountains, about 4,000 feet high, near Boone, Banner Elk, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The course lies in a park-like landscape with mountain views, flowing streams, and rhododendron forests. Designed by Frank Duane and opened in 1974, it is known as a par-64 layout over 60 scenic acres with 9 par 3s, 8 par 4s, and 1 par 5. The course combines well-maintained greens with cool summer temperatures and a relaxed atmosphere fitting “Every Player’s Club.” After the round, enjoy the outdoor deck of the Caddyshack Cafe. The club also hosts the Sugar Mountain Golf Classic Amateur Championship annually, a key event on the calendar.
