Rockhampton Golf Club is an 18-hole par-72 course designed by Australian architect Al Howard. Located near the Murray Lagoon and Rockhampton Botanic Gardens, it offers beautiful views over water and landscape at the Tropic of Capricorn. The design encourages playing from the fairway, but water hazards, smartly placed bunkers, and rough zones with low grass keep the course challenging, especially with the prevailing southeast wind. The course finishes strongly with notable holes: the first is a 537-meter par 5 with a double dogleg and water on the right, the signature 16th is a double dogleg around a large water hazard, and the 18th is a 167-meter par 3 with water on both sides. Rockhampton Golf Club has existed since 1902 and has played at the current location since 1921/1924. Practice facilities include a fairway, chipping area, and practice putting green, plus a clubhouse with catering, bar, and pro shop.
