Moyola Park Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course shaped from the Shanemullagh Estate in the scenic Glenshane Pass area. Designed by golf course architect Don Patterson, with Sam Allen as consultant, it offers a varied round set among natural landscape features, including a river at the 8th hole and water hazards beyond the island at the 17th. The club’s story began in 1975, with the first nine holes completed in spring 1977 and the course officially opened later that year. Since then, it has hosted memorable moments such as the first Pro-Am in 1979, won by Phil Posnett, and Seve Ballesteros’s exhibition match and clinic in August 1980. The ShaneMullagh clubhouse, a Georgian house in landscaped gardens, adds to the setting, alongside PGA Golf Coaching and buggy and electric trolley hire.
