Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 72 course designed by Robert Trent Jones II. Located in the rugged South Texas landscape over about 270 acres, it features old mesquite trees, two wide arroyos, and varied elevation. The four holes along the Rio Grande offer beautiful river views. The design balances challenge and playability for all skill levels. With five tee sets, including a special juniors' tee on each hole, the course suits various handicaps and distances. Double fairways, short and long par 4s and 5s, plus four par 3s from 138 to 210 yards, provide variety. The clubhouse has a spacious terrace opened in 2013 by LPGA legend Nancy Lopez.
