Golf Club House, Machrihanish, Campbeltown PA28 6PT, Verenigd Koninkrijk
Machrihanish Golf Club (Championship) is a traditional out-and-back links on the edge of Machrihanish Beach, shaped by rugged dune land and the coastal landscape. The round begins with a dramatic opening carry over the strand, with wind and line choice immediately in play, before heading out toward the sea and then back toward the clubhouse. Played as a par 70 from the regular tees, the 18-hole Championship Course features only two par 5s, both early on the back nine. The layout blends memorable moments with balanced fairways and greens. Holes 1 and the closing two holes sit in a lower-lying section separated from the rest by a burn, while the third plays straight toward the ocean with Jura in the background. From holes 5 to 9, known as “The gauntlet,” accuracy from the tee becomes especially important. Founded in 1876 and associated with Old Tom Morris, the club carries a long history and a distinctive links character.
