Keney Golf Course in Hartford is an 18-hole golf course with a strong architectural heritage. The first nine holes were designed in 1927 by Devereux Emmet, a pioneer from the Golden Age of course architecture, featuring a strategic layout that blends well with the natural terrain. In 1931, the course was expanded with the second nine holes, designed by Robert “Jack” Ross. After a major restoration and reopening on May 1, 2016, Keney Golf Course is once again focused on playability and craftsmanship. The course has hosted tournaments such as the Connecticut PGA Championship, the Hartford Women’s Open, and the National Boys’ and Girls’ Junior PGA Championships. For training, there is a grass driving range, a large bunkered green for greenside practice, a putting green next to the clubhouse and first tee, plus a short-game area with a practice green up to about 30 yards and a practice bunker.
